Steampunk Wallpaper Collection

A Steampunk Wallpaper won my admiration and became my desktop background starting this week, so I decided to make a short collection with the best steampunk illustrations I could find around the web.  Unfortunately, because they are gathered from so many sources, and almost all of them without links back to the artist that made them, I am unable to provide credits to their maker.

For those of you who don’t know, in a steampunk wallpaper we find an alternate reality or history. The steampunk concept came into the public’s attention during the 1980s and 1990s. Everything that is Steampunk related brings us into an era where steam is used on a daily basis to power almost everything. We can see a lot of fictional machines, some of them inspired from the classic stories of Jules Verne or from more contemporary authors like Scott Westerfeld, China Mieville or Philip Pullman. The setting is usually Victorian with Wild West influences.
